Douglas S. Appel, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Appel is a podiatric surgeon dual board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) . He received his undergraduate degree at Lafayette College in Easton, PA and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Appel completed his residency training at Morristown Medical Center, Atlantic Health System in northern NJ. Dr. Appel specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle disorders and has a particular interest in bunions, hammertoes, acute fractures of the foot and ankle, sports related injuries, foot and ankle arthritis, ankle arthroscopy, wound care, diabetic foot care, and all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Ira Jay Silverman, DPM (Retired)
Dr. Silverman received his undergraduate education first at Philadelphia Community College and finished at Pennsylvania State University. He attended medical school at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH. After graduating in 1980, he completed four externships with Michael Litman, DPM, Lawndale Hospital, Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburg, and Oxford Hospital. He later completed a preceptorship with Marvic Z. Arnold, DPM and a one-year residency at Cleveland Foot Clinic.
Dr. Silverman is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and has hospital affiliations with Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Surgical Center of Buck County, Lourdes Hospital, and Riverside Hospital. Dr. Silverman has been published in the journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, with the article, “Three Neuromas of One Foot.”
